George Didita and Tracy Swan earned top honors at the Princeton Charter School April Chess Tournament,  where 38 enthusiastic chess players participated.

This has been the second tournament of the year at PCS, and a third event is expected in June.
Ms. Shauna Chase, Head of the Lower School, who attended the event, mentioned that "we are happy to see all these wonderful kids competing nicely."
George Didita, a second grade student at Franklin Park Elementary, achieved the first major prize of his chess career, winning the gorgeous trophy after a playoff where he defeated Brandon Borden, current champion of the state and past winner of this event.
"It was difficult, which makes me even happier to get the trophy" George said.
The Queen's section was also decided by playoff, with Tracy Swan (sixth grader at PCS) emerging victorious after a close battle with Laura Douglas, also from PCS.
Other winners were Ashwin Dandamudi in the  Bishops section; Jay Yalamanchili
in the Knights section; David Ming-E Choo in the Pawns section, and Rishi Rajendran in the Little Kings.

The next event will be announced soon.
